BERLIA PLB Duct stands for Permanent Lubricated Duct, a specially manufactured HDPE telecom duct used for laying Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) through cable blowing or pulling methods. The inside surface contains a permanent lubricated (silicon) layer to reduce friction and allow longer cable blowing distances.

BERLIA PIPES manufactures PLB Duct Pipes from High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) that are coated inside with silicon for permanent lubrication, aiding in easy installation as conduits for underground cabling. These pipes are produced at our state-of-the-art extrusion plants as per DOT Specification GR/CDS-08/02 Nov. 2004 amendments.
PLB Pipes are used as underground cable conduits for optical fiber cables, communication cables, etc., and are suitable for cable installation by blowing or pulling by rope techniques.

At BERLIA PIPES, PLB Pipes (duct pipes) are manufactured using an ultra-violet (UV) stabilized grade of HDPE with required Anti-Oxidant content and other recommended additives. The inner layer of ducts is duly silicon coated, which minimizes friction between the OFC and the duct during the cable blowing process, enabling smooth installation of OFC in the duct without damaging the cable fibre.

Applications
COM-line Ducts are suitable for installation in the field dirt trenches, under sidewalks, roads, within communication networks, between communication centers and between cities. They can also be used in branch networks between cells, distribution cabinets, poles, in walls and within subterranean networks of homes, allowing the insertion of communication cables-optical or copper, as well as TV/cable aluminum coaxial cables. Cables can be inserted in through the pipe by blowing, with an internal air-pressure up to eight bars.
